(Jay) Digvijay Wadekar

About me:

I'm currently a member at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). I completed my PhD at the center for cosmology and particle physics (CCPP) at New York University (NYU) in 2021. I am interested in a broad range of topics spanning cosmology, astroparticle physics, machine learning and gravitational waves.

I'm working on dark matter phenomenology with low-mass pristine gas-rich dwarf galaxies which are located outside the virial radius of their host. I've also worked on cosmological pipelines of spectroscopic galaxy surveys and on gastrophysics studies targeted towards upcoming CMB-SZ surveys. My interest has recently been piqued by machine learning tools (mostly the interpretable ones) and I've used these in various areas of cosmology with collaborators at CCA.

I grew up in Nanded in India and did my bachelors in Engineering Physics at IIT Bombay. If you don't find me at my office, I may be backpacking or practicing latin and ballroom dancing.
